Veselo Privacy Policy
Veselo ("the extension") lets you play board games with other participants of a Google Meet call. This policy explains what the extension accesses and what it does with it.
Data the extension handles
- Google Meet chat messages. The extension reads messages in the Meet call's chat to send and receive game moves, invitations, and results. Game protocol messages are prefixed with Veselo| so the extension ignores ordinary conversation. Your chat messages are never transmitted anywhere except to the other participants of the same Meet call, exactly as Google Meet itself delivers them.
- Your display name. Used to identify your moves and show your name to other players. You can change it in the extension panel.
- Settings stored locally. Your display name, language, sound preference, and per-game settings are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). Nothing else is stored.
Data the extension does NOT collect
- No accounts, no sign-up, no login.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising.
- No data is sent to WOOHOO LLC or any third party. There is no server: all game state is exchanged peer-to-peer through the Meet chat you are already in.
- The extension does not read your emails, files, browsing history, or anything outside the Meet call page.
Permissions used and why
- Access to https://meet.google.com/* — to display the game panel and exchange game messages in the call chat.
- storage — to remember your display name and settings locally in your browser.
- sidePanel — to show the Veselo game panel.
- notifications — to notify you about incoming game invites.
- contextMenus — to provide panel actions from the extension menu.
Data retention and deletion
All data is stored only on your device. Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored.
Children's privacy
Veselo does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published with the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
